 (When speaking about the shields made in all possible countries)

Some make the shield of iron, wood and others from rope, others use the wood kimukht, some cover the skin with varnish and colors, others use the skins of giraffes and dispense with the rubbed wood, other use the skins of the lamt.

Lamt; animal mentioned by Murda al Tarsusi (12th) and Awfi (1228): antelope from which the skin is used to make shields by gluing together several layers.
