Nr 3: Al Takrour (1) First clime; latitude 10 deg 40min (3and1/2deg on the Niger in Abulfeda)

Nr 4: Muqadishu(Makhdichou) First clime; latitude 11 deg 00 min (2deg in Abulfeda)

Nr 5: Zhafar (2) First Clime; latitude 12 deg 30 min (south east coast of Arabia)

 

Note: nr 4 means 4th town starting from the equator.

Note: The coordinates for Mogadishu he copied from Ishaq b. al-Hasan b. Abi’l-Husayn al-Zayyat (d1058). All coordinates in the first clime are way off.

(1) Al Takrur: at the border between Senegal and Mauretania. Already mentioned by al Bakri in 1067

(2) Zafar: or Dhafar is an ancient Himyarite site situated in Yemen, some 130 km south-south-east of today's capital, Sana'a.
