Late Qing (1) copy on paper, ink and color from Baoguang Temple (2). Hanging scroll horizontal 54 cm vertical 82 cm. 

The line of 7 big characters: 瑞 應 麒 麟 并 序: Auspicious Omen Qi-lin painting and Preface.

(1) The Qing dynasty. (1644–1911) was founded by a northeast Asian people who called themselves Manchus. Their history, language, culture, and identity was distinct from the Chinese population, whom they conquered in 1644 when China was weakened by internal rebellions.

(2) The Baoguang Temple is located in Xindu district 18 km north of Chengdu, Sichuan province, China. It was founded during the Tang dynasty.
