Taizu shi lu (1418)
(About the Ming emperor Hong-wu)

Mingshilu 明實錄 "Veritable records of the Ming dynasty" is a collection of chronologically arranged records (edicts, protocols) from the Ming court. It covers the whole course of the Ming period 明 (1368-1644). Its first part is the Taizu shi lu (1418). Taizu Gao Huangdi shilu of emperor Hongwu 洪武1335/1368-1398 by officials: Dong Lun; 李景隆 Li Jinglong, 解縉 Jie Jin; 姚廣孝 Yao Guangxiao, 夏原吉 Xia Yuanji, 胡廣 Hu Guang.

Hong-wu (1): Year 14, Month 10 (Oct/Nov 1381)
In this month, the minister A-lie Yi-lie-shi (2), who had been sent by Ba-da-na Ba-na-wu, the king of the country of Java, presented a memorial and offered tribute of local products and 300 black slaves. Clothing and paper money, as appropriate, were conferred upon A-lie Yi-lie-shi (2) and the others.

Hong-wu (1): Year 15, Month 1, Day 15 (29 Jan 1382)
Seng A-lie A-er (3) (Alt: Seng A-lie He-er) and others, who had been sent by the country of Java, presented a gold memorial and offered as tribute 101 male and female black slaves, eight large pearls and 75,000 jin (4) of pepper. It was Imperially commanded that fine silks, other silks, clothing and paper money, as appropriate, be conferred upon them.

Hong-wu (1): Year 15, Month 9, Day 24 (31 Oct 1382)

The minister Yang Ma-jia-yi (5) and others who had been sent by A-da-a-zhe, the king of the country of Champa (6), presented a memorial and offered as tribute 200 elephant tusks,  800 jin (4) of sandalwood, 400 jin (4) of myrrh and 600 bolts of fan (6) cloth. It was Imperially commanded that patterned fine silks interwoven with gold thread be conferred upon the king and that paper money as appropriate, be conferred upon the envoys.

(3) Seng A-lie A-er ; Chinese Name: 僧阿烈阿兒

(4) Jin: 斤 (=chin). Also called catty is 604gr.

(5) Yang Ma-jia-yi; Chinese name 楊麻加益

(6) Champa : on the southeast Asia peninsula.

(7) fan: fan countries are tribute paying countries.
