Abd al Basit ibn Khalil: Nayl al amal fi dhayl al-duwal  (The hope of the tail of states) (1490) Egypt

Abd al-Basit b. Khalil b. Shahin al-Malati (1440-1514AD). He was born in Malatya in Egypt. Abd al-Basit’s works that relate to the economy of the Mamluks for the period 1468AD until 1517AD are al-Rawd al-Basim fi Hawadith al-‘Umr wa al-Tarajim and Nayl al-Amal fi Dhayl al-Duwal. The tiny little details he gives about East African events are not found anywhere else.
