Sohar (Oman)

Azizi said: The great city of Oman reached by sea from Sindh (now in Pakistan), India, China and Zinj, and the old capital Sohar (1) and the best on the Sea of Fars (2); this city is nearly three hundred leagues (3) from Diyar al'Azad.

(1) Sohar: In Oman close to the border with Dubai.

(2) Sea of Fars: Persian Gulf

(3) Leagues: any of several European units of measurement ranging from 2.4 to 4.6 statute miles (3.9 to 7.4 km).
