Al-Qazwini Zebras

Qazwini has no entry on zebras. However starting from the 16th century paintings of zebras started appearing with his description of the wild ass (=onager) who was becoming rare to be finally extinct some centuries ago. Also with the pictures going with his description of a wonderful winged horse some translators use the name zebra.
