Taken from: Paul Alphandery in; Revue de l'histoire des religions 1926

The Zendjs: Although the Zendjs show of among the people as wild beast and have never worked except to have fun and laugh, they however confess a creator. The name of the all powerful God is in their language: Falkouy Halouy (1). Our intension when remembering these names is this: with the differences, who existed and still exist between the people, most among them profess a creator; they mention in their proper language the all powerful God under a particular name and stretch the hands when calling this name at the moment of problems. This is the greatest prove of a Creator.
