Year 393 AH (1003) In this year rebelled the Zanji Abul Abbas, the ruler of Abbadan, against Muhaddib ed-Daula, Emir of the Area of Batiha (marshlands in Iraq); he captured Basra, attaint great riches and big power and became very strong and powerful.

(He then marched back and conquered the whole Batihah (marshlands). Abu’l-Abbas was beaten finally in 1007)

(in the Tarikh al Islam he is called Abu’l-Ghanaim) (from Ghana).
