Note: nr 4 means 4th town starting from the equator.
Note: The coordinates for Mogadishu he copied from Ishaq b. al-Hasan b. Abi’l-Husayn al-Zayyat (d1058). All coordinates in the first clime are way off.
(1) Al Takrur: at the border between Senegal and Mauretania. Already mentioned by al Bakri in 1067
(2) Zafar: or Dhafar is an ancient Himyarite site situated in Yemen, some 130 km south-south-east of today's capital, Sana'a.
