Yusuf ibn Abd al-Rahman al-Mizzi: Tahdhib al-kamal fi asma' al-rijal  (Perfection in the names of the men (d1342)

It is said, hadith from Hisham ibn Urwa (1) from his father from Aisha (3): Beware of Zinj, they are a distorted creation (4). He said: It is a point of this fatwa (2).

(1) Hisham ibn Urwa: (c. 680–763) was a prominent narrator of hadith from Medinah.

(2) Fatwa: a ruling on a point of Islamic law given by a recognized authority.

(3) Aisha: (614-678) was Muhammad's third and youngest wife.

(4) This hadith is repeated by: Masudi (916); Abu Nu’aym al Isfahani 1038; Abu Ubayd al Bakri 1067; Ibn Qudama al Maqdisi 1223; Ibn al Jawzi 1257; Ibn abd al Rahman al Mizzi 1342; al Dhahabi 1348; (and many others). Al Kulayni 939 was maybe the first to use it.
