In the nine Yanxi year (166CE) during the reign of Emperor Huan, the king of Da Qin, Andun (Marcus Aurelius) sent envoys through Rinan (Commandery on the central Vietnamese coast), beyond the frontiers, to offer elephant tusks, rhinoceros horn, and turtle shell. This was the very first time there was (direct) communication (between the two countries).
