Note: all places are mentioned by Ibn Majid except Manda and Tiung-Lji (=Shungwaya). The Kitab Ghara'ib al-funun wa-mulah al-'uyun (1050) is the only book to mention Manda as M-l-n-d-s; which can as well be Malindi. And Gedi/ Gede is mentioned nowhere but added as there is a dated inscription.

The only author to mention Tiung-Lji is Chao Ju-Kua (1226) in his Chu-fan-chih or Zhufan zhi  (Description of barbarous people). There are several locations who are/were called Shungwaya, some in Kenya some in Somalia.
