Sulanyat Reef

This is only mentioned by Ibn Majid (1470): Sulan (or Sulanyat), that is a reef above Sofala. And everything here is sand, my pilot! You do not meet clay here, nor chorale reefs. Keep Sulanyat reef at right.
Ibn Magid refers to a reef or Sand-bank between Kuvama (the mouth of the Zambezi River) and Sofala as Salan or Sulanyat.
