Charka (Koma island)
-------------------------
Ibn Majid (1470) is the only author to mention this island.
Felix Chami in 1996 found on Koma island a small EIA (Early Iron Age) site (or EIW: Early Iron Working). However the succeeding TIW (triangular incised ware) pottery sherds were missing. Meaning the island was abandoned. The dates of its existence being third to sixth century. No Swahili settlement found on the island. Today the one km island (long and wide) has a settlement.
